Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

March 17th is St. Patrick’s day. This holiday is when everyone worldwide helps celebrate the Irish culture.  There are parades, dancing  and wearing of the green.  It is also the day you may find many people drinking.  Not to mention the day when you may want to eat Corned Beef and Cabbage.  This is the time of year that McDonald’s sells their Shamrock Shake.  We will help you understand the meaning behind the holiday.  We will also give you some recipes so you can make your own special foods.

The History Channel has a perfect website that helps explains the meaning behind holiday. They have videos that will show you all the things that we know about St. Patrick’s Day.   It will tell you about St. Patrick himself.

Here is a recipe for Corned Beef and Cabbage. With a little research we have found this to be a gluten free meal.  You may want to check the spice package that comes with the brisket just to make sure.  We will also give you a vegetarian version.

The easiest thing to do is go out and buy a shamrock shake from McDonald's but if you want, you can make one at home.  Here’s how.

Now, if you will be going out and drinking that day please do not drive.  Make sure at least one person in your group is sober.  What you should do is buy them soda’s all night long.  If no one in your group is sober then call a taxi.  JUST DO NOT DRIVE!!!

Have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

Happy Pi Day 3.14

In honor of Pi Day, we will be sharing 2 of our favorite pies.  They are easy to make and can be enjoyed year round. Both pies are basic pies that you use instant pudding, milk and ready to use pie shells.  The recipes are from Kraft.

The first is a classic with a twist, Cherry-Chocolate Pie.  If you like chocolate pie and want to make a little bit fancy then you can add cherries.

The next is a Banana Split Pie

What pie will you be celebrating Pi Day?
