1 Package Green Beans Cut & Ready (any size will do) or 2 cans of Green Beans Cut no salt added
1 Onion or 1 package of frozen cut onions
1 Package (12 oz) of Peeled Baby Carrots
Heinz Ketchup (to thicken)
2 Cans Hunts Tomato Sauce (No Salt Added) (8 oz can)
Water
Lemon Juice
Lime Juice
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Pam Cooking Spray or Cooking Oil
Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits
If you are using frozen beef or chicken you should defrost it in the refrigerator before you cook with it.
We do suggest you gently rinse the beef or chicken under water only before you cook it to get any blood off of it. Please do not use soap as it does need a bath. Ha ha.
Spray the cooking pot with Pam.
If you are cooking the...
Beef or Chicken Stew, We suggest you also use cooking oil because it is less likely to burn to the bottom. Put in a thin coating of cooking oil because you don’t want the stew greasy. At most a tablespoon of oil. Place meat or chicken in pot and let Meat or Chicken brown. The meat will get brown but the chicken will get tan.
Vegetarian Stew, you do not need cooking oil nor do you need to let the beefless tip brown. You will just drop them in last.
Next place the onions in the pot. Cook the onions till it becomes translucent.
We suggest that you cut the potatoes in little pieces because it will make it cook quicker. Add the potatoes to the pot.
If you are using fresh green beans also cut them in half because it also make them cook quicker. Now add the green beans and the carrots.
If you are making the Vegetarian stew this is when you would add the Gardein Beefless Tips.
Then put in 2 cans of tomato sauce. Then fill up the cans with water and put that in too.
Then add ketchup. You know when the ketchup bottle gets low and it doesn't come out this is what you could use it for. Fill the bottle half way with water and cover it again and shake and add that to stew too.
You may need to add some more water to the pot till cover everything that is in the pot.
Then add seasoning to your taste. We like garlic and onion powder. We also like to add a dash Lemon and Lime juice to cut off the bitterness that some spices leave.
Cook on High till it boils. Then put in on low and cover it with the cover slightly a jar. If you cover it tightly it will continue to boil. You need at least 4 to 5 hours to cook it or till vegetables are soft.
