Mashed Potatoes
10 medium Potatoes
Butter or Margarine
Water
Rinse to take dirt off potatoes and place in a big stock pot. Fill pot with water to cover the potatoes. The reason we keep the skins on when we boil the potatoes is to keep the nutrients and flavor in the potatoes. Bring to a boil over high heat. When the water boils put the heat on low. Then cover the pot with the lid slightly ajar. Let cook till potatoes are soft.
After the potatoes are done, you will take it off the heat and shut the stove. Let the potatoes slightly cool for 30 minutes so you don't burn your hands when you are peeling them. When it they are cool enough to touch you will take them out of the water and peel them. Place them in an oven safe bowl and mashed them. Then add the butter or margarine. Mix with mashed potatoes. Then place bowl in your oven to keep warm till guests arrive.
