Welcome to spring. The weather should be getting warmer soon. The flowers will be blooming. We have more daylight. It could be the perfect time to have all your girls afternoon get together. One weekend have them over for movie and lunch. You could all watch the movie “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and for lunch have a salad.
The movie “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” is based on the book by Anne Brashares. It about four teenage friends who after spending all their lives together will be spending their first summer apart. They go on a shopping trip the day before they all go on their separate adventures. They find the perfect pair of jeans that fits them all even though they are all different shapes and sizes. They decide not only to buy them but that they will share them. Each person will wear these pants that summer. They will pass it around and share their experiences. Carmen (America Ferrera) plans to spends the summer at her Dad’s house in South Carolina and finds out that he will be getting remarried. Lena (Alexis Bledel) is spending the summer in Greece with her family and meets a boy only to find out their families hate one another. Bridget (Blake Lively) is off to soccer camp where she develops a crush on one of her coaches. Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) is the only one who stays home and works in the local discount department store all summer. She films her own documentary. She also is befriended by a little girl name Bailey (Jenna Boyd) who follows Tibby around all summer. One day Tibby finds out that Bailey is sick and dying from leukemia.

For lunch you can set up a salad buffet bar. You can either cut up lettuce or just open a bag of salad. Then have different veggies that people can add to their salad. You can have pasta and either chicken or steak strips for them to add as well. Have a variety of salad dressings for your friends to choose from. Don’t forget the croutons to top off the salad.
