“Dancing with the Stars”, "Cinco de Mayo" and "Mother’s Day"

This blog is in honor of some of the holidays in May, Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day.  We love the show “Dancing with the Stars”. We feel all 3 things go together and we will show you how.

“Dancing with the Stars” is a show the whole family can watch together. We have been watching this show for a long time.  If you are a fan like we are, then why not have a “Dancing with the Stars” viewing party.  It could be for any episode but why not the last one of the season.  If you don’t like that show but are still interested dancing we have two movies we like to suggest that could replace the TV show.  You can have another movie night and watch “Burlesque” and “Mamma Mia”.  What both movies have in common is dancing and singing.  Also, the affection for your mom whether she is here or not.

What you can serve is arroz con pollo.  That is easy to make because basically it is chicken and rice.  You don’t have to fry the chicken but you bake it or just toss it on the grill. You don’t even have to put flour on it you can just roast it or even barbecue it.  The rice could be whatever rice you want yellow, white or brown.  Don’t forget to make margaritas. Make sure to tortilla chips and salsa for snacks. For dessert just serve ice cream.

"Mamma Mia" is based on the Broadway Musical of the same name. The story is based on the songs of ABBA This movie is about Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) who was raised by her single mom Donna (Meryl Streep) but always wanted to know who her father was.  She finds her mom’s diary from the year she was conceived and figures out that one of 3 men her mom mentions in it, Sam Carmichael  (Pierce Brosnan) , Bill Anderson (Stellan Skarsgård) and Harry Bright (Colin Firth) must be her father. This movie takes place the day Sophie’s wedding to her fiancé Sky (Dominic Cooper). Sophie invites all three of her potential father’s to her wedding. They all say yes they will come. She hopes she finds out which one it turns out to be her actual father and so that person can walk her down the aisle. You can watch the movie to find out what happens. We hope you also enjoy the music in the movie.  To find out more about the movie look here...

"Burlesque" is about Ali Rose (Christina Aguilera), a girl from a small town in Iowa, who lost her mom when she was only 7 years old. She has big dreams.  She leaves her life in Iowa and goes to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer and dancer. She stumbles across a club called Burlesque owned by Tess (Cher). She asks for a job as a dancer but Tess keeps turning her down so meanwhile the bartender Jack (Cam Gigandet) gives her a job as a waitress. When on of the dancers Georgia (Julianne Hough) becomes pregnant they need someone to replace her.  Ali fights for her chance to audition.  Even though Tess isn't happy about she lets Ali audition.  To find out more about the movie look here...
